The principle of atomic spectroscopy is the measurement of the electromagnetic radiation absorbed and emitted by atoms. As unique elements have characteristic spectra, atomic spectroscopy and specifically the electromagnetic spectrum or mass spectrum, is used for the determination of elemental compositions.
Since the introduction of the USP General Chapter <233> and ICHQ3d guidelines, both ICP-MS and ICP-OES have become essential tools for elemental impurity analysis. We have extensive experience of developing and/or validating material specific methods to meet these requirements.
All three instrumental techniques are available for the determination of elements at Butterworth.
